Keeping it Positive

It can be hard to sometimes see past the struggles of now.  The world and life continues to change and that is "always" a wonderful thing when times are tough.  As someone who has had to struggle with the frustration of health issues it's something I learned all about a long time ago.
First off, you need to know that even though you may not be able to control your situation you can always choose the way in which you deal with it.
How do you you do this?  Well you need to retrain your brain.  Instead of only thinking of the negative and all the what if's your imagination can create.  Stop, take a deep breath and realize that there is a positive perspective to everything.  Sometimes you have to really search for them but they are there.
The one thing that I do is every night as I turn off my light (especially if it's been a tough day) I go through the ten things that I am thankful for.  It can be big or it can be little it doesn't matter it just has to be a "good thing".

Here are few ideas for you.

The sun coming through the window this morning.
My morning coffee.
My favourite song coming on the radio.
My cat/dog curling up beside me.
A funny picture or video that made me laugh.
Leftovers so I don't have to cook tonight.
The kindness of a stranger.
That package you ordered arriving early.
Hug your best friend

Here are a few example of keeping it positive when your stuck at home.

Whether it's your allergies that force you to stay inside or the current situation in our world.  At first you may feel depressed, frustrated, helpless but this is just one point of view.
Try flipping that whole view point around and try this...
If you find yourself at home for a while, what about that long "to do list" you have?
It could be anything from cleaning, to reorganizing the pantry or closet, fixing or making repairs and any other projects.
What about that book or series you've been wanting to read or watch.
Listen to your favourite podcast,  watch a how to video to learn something new or check out all those exercise and meditation videos online.
Keeping in touch through social media, e-mail, phone or even by letter.  And of course doing something nice for someone else is always a guaranteed way to lift up your spirits.
For me turning off and limiting the news (and all the negative news) can be a huge help.
Keeping a sense of humour is big, laughter is a wonderful type of medicine in its own right.
And if you have kids or pets, play!  Whether it's a game or dancing to your favourite songs in the middle of your living room.
So go on, dance like theirs no one watching.......and take care of one another.
