A Fantastic Makeup And Skincare Find

As someone with supper sensitive skin finding anything skin care, haircare, or makeup related can be a monumental challenge.  And there are times you just do without because you can't find anything that doesn't irritate your skin.

When it comes to foundations and concealers for myself, a select few powder foundations have been my only option. From time to time I would be able to find a cream concealer that I could use, but only occasionally. Usually never more than twice in a row before my skin would start to become irritated.  In the past there were one or two liquid foundations I could use occasionally but when they stopped making them (many years ago) everything I tried after that just irritated my skin.

This past year however, I discovered a brand called Sweet LeiLani. I was really impressed with the ingredients in the product I was looking at (a total of just ten), the good reviews, and the reasonable price. So, I decided to give it a try.

I ordered the Beach Vibes, Skin Care Cover Foundation. It's a corrective cream foundation with anti-inflammatory properties that can be applied in layers for anything from light to full coverage. Before I even used it I was immediately impressed with the recycled packaging, and then by how well the product blended into my skin.  I did my usual couple days of patch tests before applying it to a few areas that needed extra coverage. Then I used my regular powder foundation over top.

Wow, this stuff actually stays put on my skin, and it did not leave my skin feeling heavy or weighed down. Best of all, my skin wasn't even remotely irritated after a full week of use.  I can now actually use it daily, even if my skins irritated it doesn't make my skin worse, and that's an absolute first for me when it comes to any cream concealer.

I  really was so impressed that I went back and checked out the company and the entire line of products. I discovered that the founder of the company was a fellow Canadian. She began her career as a makeup and hair designer for tv and film before becoming a Certified Paramedical Makeup and Tattoo Specialist in Canada. Working with groups like the Cancer Society and the Firefighter Burn Fund.(You can check out more about her, her story and all the products here: sweetleilani.com)  The company also has some impressive awards under their belt including the Canadian Choice Awards 2024.

Sweet LeiLani, basically specialize in all kinds of skin conditions. The foundation covers everything from dark circles and eczema to burns and scars.  So if your someone like me (struggling to find products for sensitive skin) or just needing good buildable coverage you might just want to check them and their ingredients out.

Whenever I find a quality product for sensitive skin I really do like to share.  Why? Because I know how frustrating long it can take to actually find products that work.
