Happy Canada Day!

There were lots of extra events happening this year for Canada's big 150.  Everything from parades, pancake breakfasts, street hockey, markets, car shows and of course fireworks.
So in the spirit of celebration I thought I would share a couple of my favourite summer drinks.

My favourite fast & easy alcoholic summer drink is pure 100% cranberry juice (red or white) and vodka. Just add ice and a couple pieces of fruit if you want to pretty it up. It's sugar free and non carbonated.
I also love iced coffee on a hot summers day.  Just brew a strong batch of coffee let it cool and store it in the fridge.  This way it's easy to control the strength of the drink. Just poor some of the coffee in a glass, add your desired amount and type of milk. Then top with a couple of ice cube and a sprinkle or two of cinnamon.

We've also started up a new Pinterest board "Oh Canada" for all things Canadian.
Here is the link Oh Canada, Enjoy!

Along with all the free activities happening on Canada day there are a few other free things happening throughout the year too. Some Museums are offering free admission throughout the summer so check your local area to see what might be available.
You can also celebrate Canada's 150 with a free Discovery Pass, this pass offers one year of free admission to all Parks Canada places until Dec 31,2017.
