Allergy Friendly Plants For Your Yard

Just because you have allergies doesn't always mean you can't get out and enjoy your garden or have a variety of plants. It just means you have to be careful in what you decide to plant. 

I've included a list of low allergen plants below. Of course just because they're considered low allergen plant doesn't necessarily mean you can't be allergic to them. But this list can still be a helpful place to start.

If you have allergies you might find these tips helpful while planting.

1. Avoid peek allergy times. You can check you area for pollen counts.  
2. If your allergic to grass avoid going outside while someone nearby is mowing.
3. Don't forget to wear gloves and avoid touching your face.  Some people may need to wear a mask.
4. Having a drink with you while you're doing work outdoors as it can not only keep you hydrated but can provide relief for dry or irritated throats.
 5. Get changed and washed up as soon as your finished. This will help remove any pollen or irritants that can remain on your skin and clothing.
6. When your finished working outside leave the tools, gloves etc.. outside.  Don't bring them indoors with you.
