The Latest on Probiotic's And Allergies

Well, the good news is that more studies are showing how Probiotics are not only helping our digestive troubles but also helping our immune systems regulate allergies.
Specifically a combination of Bifidbacteria and Lactobacilli which work to increase     t-cells in our bodies, according to the article in Science daily, "Allergies? Probiotic combination may curb your symptoms, new study finds."
Because Probiotics change the balance of bacteria in the gut, it's showing promise in the reduction of allergy symptoms. From an article in Live Science, "Probiotics May Help Relieve Seasonal Allergies", By Carie Nierenberg they discovered that, "the majority of these studies (17 out of 23) show that people with seasonal allergies who took Probiotics supplements or ate foods containing Probiotics showed improvement in at least one outcome measure" such as allergy symptoms.

According to another article at Reader's Digest, titled " Could Probiotics Be Your Best Defense Yet Against Spring Allergies?" by Carly Zinderman, several allergy studies are showing promising results. The studies suggest that Probiotics "may alter the immune system and reduce inflammatory signals that are associate with allergies." Improving overall symptoms and providing nasal relief.  Dr Andrew Nickels (Vanderbilt University Medical Center) says there is also some evidence that taking Probiotics while getting your allergy shots can actually make the shot more effective.
All good news, especially for those of us who already happen to be taking Probiotics.
Wondering what the most important types of
Probiotics for digestive health are?
Lactobacillus (found in dairy) Bifidobacteria which is found in the intestine but can be reproduced and taken by mouth and Streptococcus Thermophilus (not to be confused with the bacteria strain that causes strep throat) which can be found in yogurt.
